The second Ramstore centre launched in Kazan
Corporate Profile Ramenka managing company that operates Ramstore supermarket and hypermarket chain in Russia was established at 1997 becoming one of the first international retailers developing their business in former CIS. The company is the joint venture formed by the Turkish industrial and retail group Koc and Enka developing company. At present Ramstore chain includes 34 stores in Moscow region and single ones in Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Nizhni Novgorod, Rostov on Don and Samara. Ramenka’s turnover in 2004 totaled $490 mln.
The second Ramstore centre in Kazan opened its doors on Narimanova St. The centre became the 35th object of the Turkish chain in Russia. Total area of the three storied store exceeds 14,000 sq. metres, 6,500 sq. metres of which have been leased. 40 shops and restaurants are be present in the centre. Investment into the store totaled $2 mln.
The store is equipped with 15 POS terminals with digital-weights. Product range includes more than 30,000 food and non-food items. Imported goods constitute only 30 per cent of the centre’s choice, while the rest of the products are produced in Russia and Tatarstan. 5 per cent of the assortment form Ramstore private labels.
According to OOO Ramenka’s authorities, two more Ramstore supermarkets as well as the largest regional hypermarket will be soon launched in Kazan. Thus by the end of 2005 the number of Ramstore shops in Kazan can reach five.
