Spartakovskiy mall to be built in Kazan by the order of City Centre

Regional Profile Kazan is the capital of Tatarstan republic situated in the Middle Volga region. The city population exceeds 1,105 thousand. Retail turnover for 2005 is planned at the level of RUR 65 bln (about $2.2 bln). The city occupies the 5th place in the ranking of the most attractive for retail investment regions by Kommersant newspaper.

Spartakovskiy shopping centre of 40,000 square meters floor space might be launched in December 2005 in Kazan. City Centre managing company that already operates City Centre and XL malls appears to be the main investor.

According to City Centre CEO Leonid Rakhimov, the new mall will include a middle sized food supermarket servicing family consuming of well to do customers. Mir home appliances seller and Snezhnaya Koroleva fir and winter ware retail chain as well as the multiplex of five cinema halls are rumored to become anchor tenants.

The mall is planned to occupy four-storied building with the outside parking area designed for 880 vehicles.
