Rostik’s-KFC plans to open seven more restaurants in Russia by the end of 2008, four of which will be operated under franchise. Two will be in St Petersburg, one in Moscow and one in Kishinev, Moldova. During 2008 the chain has grown by 34 restaurants, 20 of which are franchised. Rostik’s-KFC recently reached one hundred franchised restaurants, after the opening of a new outlet in the city of Ufa, Russia. By the end of the year, there will be a total of 161 restaurants in Russia and the CIS. The chain, a strategic alliance formed in 2005 between Rostik Group and Yum! Brands, has already grown to 154 outlets and operates in 24 cities in Russia and the CIS. Around 65% of the network is owned and operated by independent franchisees. Rostik’s-KFC has ambitious plans to open further franchised units in cities such as Saratov, Volgograd, Yaroslavl, Ryazan, Lipetsk, Sochi, Kemerovo, Tomsk, Novokuznetsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Barnaul, Voronezh, Orenburg, Belgorod, Nizhniy Tagil, Kursk and Penza.
