The largest M.Video store opened in Krasnodar

Electronics chain M.Video was established in 1993. For now it operates 39 stores in Russia as well as its own internet shop. Total area of all the shops of the chain exceeds 70,000 sq. meters. Turnover of the company in 2003 amounted to USD573 million. This year the chain is planning to bring turnover to USD850 million and open 12 new stores.

M.Video electronics retail chain has launched its first supermarket in Krasnodar. The new store with the area of 3,000 sq. meters is the largest M.Video centre in Russia. M.Video has become the anchor tenant at the largest shopping and entertainment centre of Krasnodar Krasnaya Ploschad. The centre is located at Dzerzhinskogo St., 100 in the northern part of the city. Another anchor tenant at Krasnaya Ploschad is the largest sport shop in the city Vysshaya Liga.

For now, the main M.Video competitors present in Krasnodar are Eldorado and Technosila. Each of these chains operates 2 shops in the city, yet none of their stores has so large floor space as the new M.Video.

Eldorado Retail chain is the anchor tenant at the local TsUM on Gogolia St. It also has the shop on the main transport artery of the city - Krasnaya St.

Technosila stores are located in Kavkaz and SBS shopping centres. SBS is situated in the northern part of the city and is the nearest to M.Video big electronics shop.

Krasnaya Ploschad shopping and entertainment centre is one of the largest shopping centers in Krasnodar. The first part of the centre with the total area of 30,000 sq. meters was launched in June, 2003. Now it hosts DIY centre with the assortment of 80,000 items. M.Video is located in the left part of the building, that is visited by 8,000 customers every day. The reconstruction works at the shop were started last June.

The second and third parts of the shopping centre are to get off the ground in 2005. They will host food supermarket, entertainment complex and shopping gallery with the total area of 60,000 sq. meters.
