Euroset may charge operators for processing payments
Russian mobile phone retailer Euroset may raise the fee that it charges mobile phone operators for processing payments of their mobile users. Kommersant newspaper has reported that Euroset plans to introduce a 3% payment fee for all operators, citing guidelines worked out by the retailer. The guidelines are intended to fulfil the Federal Antimonopoly Service's ruling that the retailer provide equal terms to all mobile carriers and manufacturers for three years. At present mobile operators pay on average, a 2% payment processing fee to Euroset. Raising the fee to 3% is major operator VimpelCom's scheme to indirectly finance Euroset after it acquired 49% of the mobile phone retailer in October.
