Tesco Lotus to continue investment in Thailand

Tesco Lotus operator the Ek-Chai Distribution System Co has said it is committed to continuing its investment despite economic uncertainties. Local press reports that about THB7 billion (USD197 million) will be used to buy land, maintain existing stores and start new developments such as Plus shopping malls, its latest retail format. Steve Hammett Tesco Lotus CEO said: “We will invest in Thailand, which is our strategic country, for the long term. Economic and political problems are short-lived.”
