IKEA shelves Ukraine plansIKEA has postponed a plan to build a network of stores in Ukraine, Oksana Belaichuk, IKEA's Public Relations Director for Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, told the local press. Belaichuk said: "The leadership of the IKEA Group of companies has decided to suspend the search for new land plots and temporarily postpone the plan for further development of the plot that we acquired in the Odessa region. IKEA is closely monitoring the development of the economic situation in the region with the aim of returning to the plans for investment on the territory of Ukraine at the first opportunity." IKEA was understood to be mulling the opening of six stores in Kiev, Kharkov, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Donetsk, and Lviv.
