36,6 launches discount pharmacy

The pharmacy chain 36,6 has launched a pilot project – discount pharmacy – aimed at Western Siberia, which so far includes two stores in Novosibirsk and Omsk. The project will incorporate less profitable units through discount offers of 10% to 30%. An example of a discount drugstore in Russia is the Samson Pharma pharmacy chain. It has only nine outlets but, in terms of its turnover, ranks among the top 20 largest pharmacy operators in Russia. The 36,6 pharmacy chain was launched in Moscow in 1997. It arrived in Siberia in 2005 in the city of Novosibirsk. Currently, the chain comprises 1,168 pharmacies, of which 69 are in Siberia.
