Metro Group cash&carry reorganising in Ukraine

Metro Group's Metro cash & carry banner in Ukraine is looking to revive its struggling business, RetailStudio.org reports. The company is to review its product range, especially non-food. It will only stock non-food products suitable for independent retail and HoReCa customers.

Metro will revise its pricing strategy in procurement as well as instore with the aim of creating a stable low pricing level, complemented by promotional offers and a loyalty scheme. It will invest into supply chain management to reduce out-of-stocks at its outlets.

Last but not least, the company will make personnel changes at its Ukraine headquarters. According to reports from StrajkUA, Metro has recently dismissed 200 employees.
