Grain harvest forecast for 2020 revised upward

Russia's annual grain output is expected to increase to 120m tons-150m tons by 2020, President Vladimir Putin said at the APEC summit today. Earlier, the forecast for 2020 amounted to 115m tons. The country will be able to export between 35m tons-40m tons of grain in eight years, the president said. The Agriculture Ministry expects the grain harvest in the 2012-2013 agricultural year to total 70m tons-75m tons, while exports will amount to 10m tons-14m tons. In the 2011-2012 agricultural year, grain output in clean weight amounted to 94.2m tons and exports stood at 27.15m tons. RBC
