Metro Group Media Markt and Saturn accused of misleading ads

In Germany, a consumer protection association has attacked Metro Group-owned electronics banners Media Markt and Saturn as well as ProMarkt over misleading advertising. The North-Rhine/Westphalia consumer protection association has said the retailers highlight low monthly instalments rather than a product’s overall retail price. With such advertising potentially contributing to consumer debt overload, the association has threatened legal action should this form of advertising continue.
