Tesco launches instore talent competition

Tesco has launched a talent contest in the UK. The company aims the competition, called 1Click2Fame, will rival Simon Cowell’s TV shows The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. Recording booths will be set up in Tesco stores next month, allowing wannabe celebrities to perform. The videos will be available on the internet and voted on by the public, with the contest’s winner collecting GBP100,000 (USD180,200). Organisers believe the Tesco’s competition will attract as many as 10,000 entrants. The store’s Entertainment Director Rob Salter said: "We are delighted to be part of this exciting new project. Tesco is always looking to give customers a little bit extra." There are five categories: music, comedy, dance, variety and street performance.
