Carrefour CEO Lars Olofsson resigns

French retailer Carrefour’s CEO Lars Olofsson has informed the company's Board of Directors of his decision to step down. In light of the fact that “all the required conditions were met to shorten the transition period that began on 29 January 2012”, which was meant to end on 18 June, Georges Plassat becomes the new CEO with immediate effect.
