ATB Market to defy economic climate and open 70-80 stores in 2009

ATB Market, one of the leading supermarket and neighbourhood stores in Ukraine, plans to open between 70 to 80 supermarkets and end the year with round 370 stores, Retail Studio has reported. The stores will be located on sites the company has already purchased and begun construction on, ATB Head of Public Relations Anna Lichman said. This seems to be an ambitious aim given the current economic situation in Ukraine, where many retailers have cut their expansion plans in order to pay off their debts.
