Carrefour to open store in Moscow's River Mall Shopping Centre

Carrefour has signed a preliminary lease agreement in River Mall shopping centre, which will be located on the Third Ring Road in Moscow. River Mall will be one of the biggest shopping and entertainment centres in Moscow, with a total area of more than 258,000 square meters. The Carrefour hypermarket will open in 2011, occupying a total leased area of more than 13,000 square metres and will be the main anchor tenant in the mall. Before the end of the year, Carrefour plans to unveil expansion plans in the country for the next three years, this is set to include mergers and acquisitions. Carrefour already operates two hypermarkets in Moscow and Krasnodar and plans to open one more in Lipetsk this year.
