Auchan to launch new banner in Russia

French retailer Auchan has created a new concept in Russia called Raduga, which means 'Rainbow' in English. The stores, with a sales area of between 5,000 and 7,000 square metres, will be price orientated discount superstores. Two stores are planned to open in Kalouga and Penza by the end of this year. With this new banner, Auchan hopes to reach out to new customers in Russia where it currently operates 22 large Auchan hypermarkets, 12 Auchan City superstores, 25 Atak discounters and two Auchan Jardin gardening outlets.
