Tesco and Wal-Mart Asda criticised for selling books with offensive titles

UK retailers Tesco and Wal-Mart-owned Asda have come under criticism following complaints they have been selling books and CDs with expletives in the title via their websites. The titles appeared as possible selections even if other words from their titles were entered into the website search facility. Asda quickly apologised, after The Mail on Sunday brought the titles to its attention and removed them from its stock. Meanwhile, Tesco blamed the error on a problem with its technological filtering system, designed to prevent any products with offensive titles appearing on its main site. The grocer said the malfunction has since been repaired, making the offending titles more difficult to view.and Wal-Mart-owned Asda have come under criticism following complaints they have been selling books and CDs with expletives in the title via their websites.
