Harvey Norman set to slash prices

Harvey Norman has announced it is expecting a big increase in sales over the traditional Boxing Day/New Year sales period. During the past few months, the company has been working with vendors to deliver some excellent deals over the traditional sales period, a spokesperson claimed. Earlier this week, the company reported that sales had risen during the last weeks by 4.5% year-on-year, the third straight week of growth. The data for sales in the 28 days to 14 December also highlighted an upward trend, with sales for the previous four-week periods rising by 1.2% and 0.5%, respectively. The news should bring some cheer to the group, which has seen declines in almost all the other reported periods, stretching back to October, when it began releasing the details.
