Dixy Group Central Russia and Urals drive 2012 growth

Russian grocery retailer Dixy Group has announced consolidated revenue growth of 43.8% to RUB147.049 billion (USD4.7 billion) for its 2012 full year, boosted by the acquisition of Victoria Group in June 2011. The company has reported like-for-like sales growth separately for Dixy Group and Victoria Group.

Like-for-like sales at Dixy Group grew by 3.95%, driven by a 6.5% increase in basket size, but showed a 2.4% fall in traffic. Like-for-like growth at Victoria Group increased by 2.84%, including a 6.03% growth in basket size and a 3% fall in traffic. Revenue growth was driven by sales from the Urals and Central Russia regions where Dixy Group reported double-digit like-for-like sales.

For the full year 2012, Dixy Group opened net 380 stores and closed the year with 1,499 stores, including 1,437 neighbourhood stores, 42 supermarkets, 19 compact hypermarkets and one cash & carry store.
