Circuit City name may survive

Circuit City’s final stores are expected to close at the end of March, but there is hope that the retailer’s name will live on in the US. Hilco, a retail consulting and liquidation firm, is trying to buy the retailer’s brand, including its name and website. Hilco would not comment on what it would do if it did buy the name. Circuit City has the right to sell its name, trademarks, domain and intellectual property to raise money to pay off its debts.
