Vester aims to return to pre-crisis success

Russian retailer Vester aims to return to the pre-crisis levels of traffic of August 2008 by June 2009. Vester aims to increase the turnover, number of purchases and the average spend, the company has said. It is going to implement “anti-crisis program” for the period March to June 2009, which includes development of private label products and meetings with strategic suppliers in order to strengthen the partnership with them. Currently, the retailers owns about RUB400 million (USD14 million) to them. Vester’s plan to reach the revenue level of August 2008 is an ambitious goal in the current market situation.
