Carrefour France sells electricity and gas
Some 20 Carrefour hypermarkets and supermarkets, mainly based in the Ile-de-France and in the North, will offer their customers the opportunity to purchase electricity or gas through the French private operator Poweo. Poweo, is the main competitor of EDF (Electricité de France) and will advertise Carrefour Energie own branded offers that will see the electricity bill reduced by 8 to 10% and gas by 5% on average. It is the first time that a retail store will sell electricity and gas in France. By the end of the year, 1,253 Carrefour stores plan to offer Carrefour Energie.
