M&S experiments with new store concept

As reported by Retail Week, Marks & Spencer is testing outlet shop-in-shops at four locations. The format has debuted at its Lewisham store in southeast London where the first floor now stocks clearance lines and the ground floor continues to offer the latest ranges and food. "We have identified four stores in locations where we think shoppers would benefit from a choice between our great value outlet merchandise and the existing food and clothing offer. There are no plans to make this change in any further stores," said M&S Head of Outlets. The three other test locations are Wood Green in north London, Stevenage and Slough.
