Tesco targeted by unions in UK
According to reports in the UK press, the country’s largest trade union, Unite, is to stage a demonstration outside Tesco’s store in Regent Street, to voice concerns over the treatment of workers employed in supply firms that produce meat for the retailer. The union is claiming that workers in the supply chain are experiencing “harsh and divisive” conditions. We believe that Tesco's procurement practices are creating divisions between migrant and indigenous workers across Britain and Ireland," said joint leader Tony Woodley.
